A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a structured set of product data required by the EU ESPR regulation. It includes information about materials, origin, sustainability, repairability, and more — accessible via a QR code or URL.

Is StartDPP a certification body?▼

No. StartDPP is a preparation and publishing tool. We help you structure and publish your product data. We are not a notified body and do not certify compliance.

Do I need a GTIN / barcode?▼

A GTIN is recommended for GS1 Digital Link compatibility, but not required. You can use a StartDPP Draft ID for testing.

Can I export my data and leave?▼

Absolutely. You can export all your data (JSON-LD, CSV, PDF) anytime. No vendor lock-in.

What happens if StartDPP shuts down?▼

Your data remains available through your own exports and, if you chose archive, on IPFS — independent of StartDPP.

Is the QR code compatible with EU standards?▼

Yes. The QR encodes a GS1 Digital Link URL, the standard format recommended for DPP presentation.
